Hi! It’s perfectly natural to feel down and sad sometimes. Everyone gets the blues. Without going into the "why” of it, let us work out ways to accept and beat the blues.
As you are all aware, https://www.allzwellever.com/ aims to encourage a growth mindset with an attitude of resilience and persistence in the young to face “come-what-may”. Remember that the remote of your life is in your hand; that you are the master of your life.
When the present looks challenging and sad, do remember that “ This too shall pass!"
So without further ado, I am sharing my happiness strategies with you. They might look obvious but each one has the power to uplift you. I pray that they click with you too!
Loving self is a primary prerequisite of well being. Accept and love yourself unconditionally for all you have been, all you are and all you will be.
Reaching out to people helps. Studies show that positive social ties significantly protects health and happiness. Consciously work towards strengthening quality relationships. Keep in touch with friends, explore volunteering opportunities or engage in learning something new. If it is just too difficult, please don't hesitate reaching out to a therapist.
Every once in a while, give yourself some self-care and pampering. Do what you really like to and unwind.
Have you tried to fake it, till you make it, till you believe in it? The next time you feel low, try putting your hands up in the air and strike a power pose. Or give yourself your big smile and laugh out loud. Observe your body fooling your mind in making you feel better.
Walk, run, dance, skip, jump! Try out some happiness-inducing workouts! Our physical body and mind have a strong connection, so taking care of one will have a positive effect on the other. For me, a long walk and music is what helps.
Trying to think optimistically, even during down times is a worthwhile practice. Try counting your blessings and feel the magic of gratitude. Start by listing all things that you appreciate in your life. The results may surprise you.
Easily said than done! Staying mindful needs conscious practice. But, once this habit is developed, past and future anxieties will fade. We can observe our transient thoughts, emotions and sensations and not be led by them. Research suggests that mindfulness creates a shield against stress and strengthens the areas of the brain governing emotions.
Writing is my catharsis. Journaling helps me clear my thoughts and is my forever go-to habit.
I would love to hear from you about your happiness strategies. Before leaving the post, do take some time and list them down.
It would be great if you can share them in the comments. I shall be adding them up in the blog down the line so that others can benefit from it as well.
